Car policy confusing? Ask Poli.

Does my policy cover towing and roadside assistance?

Towing and labor is a small optional coverage with tight limits, and it usually only pays labor performed at the disablement site.

What filed auto forms generally say

Towing and labor coverage is generally optional and pays up to a modest per-disablement amount rather than the full repair bill.

Most forms pay only for labor performed where the vehicle became disabled — the tow itself and on-site labor, not the shop work afterwards.

A tow following a covered collision or comprehensive loss is often payable under that coverage instead, which can be the larger of the two limits.

Why your policy can still say something else

Per-disablement limits, whether the coverage exists, and any provider-network requirement come from the declarations and endorsements.
