Will insurance pay to match my undamaged siding or shingles?
Most forms pay to repair what was damaged, not to make the whole elevation match. A few clauses decide how far the repair extends.
What filed forms generally say
The loss-settlement clause generally obligates the insurer to repair or replace the damaged part, which is why a partial replacement can leave a visible mismatch.
A pair-or-set clause exists in most forms, but it is usually written for personal property such as earrings, not for building materials.
Some states have adopted matching regulations or bulletins that require a reasonably uniform appearance, and a state amendatory endorsement is where that would appear in your policy.
Why your policy can still say something else
Matching obligations depend heavily on state amendments and on the exact loss-settlement wording, both of which differ between policies sold in the same state.
